SWW Sickle Cell Event & Blood Drive
Give Blood. Give Love. Give Back.
School Without Walls proudly hosted our 4th annual Sickle Cell Awareness Event & Red Cross Blood Drive, bringing together students, families, and community partners for a powerful evening of education, service, and giving back.
Thanks to our incredible community, we collected 27 units of blood and raised over $600 for the American Red Cross of Greater Rochester. Even more inspiring, 12 donors (39%) were first-time blood donors, including 7 SWW students, highlighting the leadership and compassion of our young people. Students will continue selling handmade gifts throughout the school year to further increase our donation total.
The event featured a student-led awareness initiative, a handmade art and bake sale, a Soul Food dinner from Big Boys Eatery, and an on-site Red Cross Blood Drive—giving everyone a meaningful way to contribute to an important cause.
We extend our sincere thanks to our generous sponsors—the Greater Rochester Health Foundation, Visions Federal Credit Union, and Wegmans—for their continued support.
Together, our community showed how small acts of kindness can make a life-saving impact.
